Once you place your Hedley & Bennett order, it takes 1-3 business days to get your order processed, packed, and into the hands of the shipping carrier. From there, please allow 3-7 business days for ground shipping, depending on your location.
If your order includes pre-order items, we'll dispatch your entire order as soon as all items become available.
Orders with apron embroidery will add one week to the order turnaround time!
If your order does not arrive within this timeframe, please contact our customer service team at customerservice@hedleyb.com and we will look into it for you right away.

Returns & Exchanges: The Apron Squad Guarantee
We offer a 30-day return/exchange policy! To return unworn, unwashed, and unaltered item(s), please use our online RETURN PORTAL within 30 days of your delivery date to print your free return label. We do not accept returns of embroidered items, which are final sale.
How to Make a Return:

We occasionally send out promo codes to new customers, celebrate special events, and mark the holidays. To get a discount from a promo code, you must apply it to your order before you finish checking out!
Please note that promo codesCANNOTbe combined. Our discount codes prefer to fly solo, so they can't be combined on a single order.
Promo codes also do not apply to items already on sale, Vans, Crocs, face masks, and gift cards. Thanks for understanding!
If we receive your return within 30 days of your order date, you can choose to receive your refund to your original payment method or as a Hedley & Bennett store credit. Returned items must be new and unused.
The time it takes for your refund to post to your bank account, PayPal account, or credit card will vary.
We only accept returns for products purchased directly from Hedley & Bennett. If you want to return a product you purchased from another retailer, please contact the retailer directly for information on their return policy.
Please note that our responsibility for the goods ends once they are delivered to the address provided by the customer. We do not offer refunds or replacements for orders that have been stolen after successful delivery. We highly recommend customers ship their order to a secure delivery location or make arrangements for someone to receive the package to avoid such incidents.
We gladly honor a one-time price adjustment on full-price merchandise within seven days of the mail-order ship date if accompanied by the original receipt / order confirmation. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments. Orders already placed with a coupon or promotion are also ineligible for additional discounts. Promotions and coupons cannot be applied to previous purchases.
We stand behind everything we make! If you are not fully satisfied with one of our products at the time that you receive it, you may return it to us for a replacement or refund within 30 days.
Please note that Heat or chemical damage is NOT included in the H&B Apron Squad Guarantee. Custom Orders (including embroideries) and worn/washed items are also not returnable.
Gift Cards (both physical and digital) and other items marked "Final Sale" are FINAL SALE and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange.
How to Love Your New H&B Gear, AKA Care Instructions
Please carefully read the care instructions included with your apron before washing and/or drying! Different fabrics and design details mean that each apron requires a unique approach to care.
H&B uses only top-notch, durable fabrics that are meant to withstand wear & tear. Some of these are raw untreated denim and garment-dyed fabrics that may bleed slightly in their first few wash cycles and will fade and patina naturally.
Some aprons are not pre-shrunk and can be expected to shrink up to 1.5 inches during the first few washes.

WASHING
Except for our waxed canvas aprons, most of our aprons are machine-washable. To preserve the color and fabric of your apron, wash your apron with cold water and a mild detergent. Do not soak your apron as that can cause colors to bleed.
While we test our aprons to ensure the colors don't typically bleed when machine-washed in cold water, we also suggest washing your apron separately in the initial washes to ensure nothing runs. If your apron is garment-dyed, always wash it separately to prevent color transfer.

STAIN REMOVAL
Spills and splatters are part of the cooking experience. While our aprons are designed for heavy use, some stains can be particularly stubborn - and promptly treating those stains will minimize their impact on the fabric. Here are some strain removal remedies that you might find useful. While we’ve found these methods effective, we cannot guarantee stain removal or that the product will not be damaged. Always test any stain remedies on a small area first!
WARM SALT WATER: IDEAL FOR FRESH STAINS
1. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of salt in ½ cup of water.
2. Soak the stained fabric for 2-3 minutes.
3. Rub the fabric against itself under cold water.
RUBBING ALCOHOL OR WHITE VINEGAR: BETTER FOR SET-IN STAINS
1. Dab rubbing alcohol or white vinegar onto the stain.
2. Wait a few minutes to let it penetrate and react.
3. Blot the stain with white paper towels or a damp cloth.
COMMERCIAL STAIN REMOVER:
Always follow packaging instructions when using a commercial stain remover.

DRYING AND IRONING
When drying your apron, avoid high heat settings that can cause shrinkage and fading. Opt for line drying or tumble drying on a low/delicate setting to help maintain the size and color of your apron.
If necessary, iron your apron at a low or medium heat setting. Test the iron heat on a small test area first, and always iron on the reverse side to protect any design elements like embroidery or patches from damage.

CARE OF WAXED CANVAS APRONS (A.K.A WAXMANS)
Aprons made from waxed canvas are great at resisting stains and spills, but they can only be spot-cleaned. Gently clean waxed canvas aprons with a damp cloth or sponge. DO NOT machine wash, bleach, or iron waxed canvas aprons.

Some of our aprons are garment-dyed, which gives them a distinctive look. Their unique color requires some special care! To keep your garment-dyed apron looking fabulous, we recommend machine washing them separately with cold water. This helps maintain their color and prevents color transfer onto your lighter clothes.
We also strongly recommend line-drying garment-dyed aprons to prevent shrinkage and wrinkles. Use an iron on medium heat as needed.
DO NOT use stain removers or bleach on garment-dyed aprons. Do not soak garment-dyed aprons as that can cause the color to bleed.

HANDLING AND STORAGE
Sharp objects, abrasive materials, and high heat can compromise the fabric of your apron. While it's made for heavy use, our aprons are not flame resistant, so caution is advised around open flames and sharp tools.
Proper storage is key to an apron's longevity. Hang your apron on a hook or hanger to prevent creases and keep it ready for your next cooking session.
Some of our aprons are garment-dyed, which gives them a distinctive look. To keep your garment-dyed apron looking fabulous, we recommend washing them separately on a cold setting. This helps maintain their color and prevents any color transfer onto your lighter clothes. Stick with similar or darker shades when wearing them, just to be safe.

Over time, the wax on the canvas will weather and fade, making it less water-resistant. You can purchase and reapply canvas wax yourself to keep your apron fresh. One of the popular brands is Otter Wax, and you can look for similar products at your local arts and crafts store or online. Simply apply as directed.
There are some other basic home methods to try if you have stains that won't come out with a standard wash.
While we have successfully used these methods ourselves, please note that we cannot guarantee that your stains will be removed or the product will not be damaged. Please always tests in a small area first.
WARM SALT WATER
This method works best if the stain is fresh and hasn't had time to dry. Really great for fresh tomato and wine stains!
1. Dissolve about 1T salt in 1/2 C water
2. Soak stained fabric in the salt water for 2-3 min
3. Rub the fabric against itself under cold water
RUBBING ALCOHOL
This method is better for stains that have had some time to dry. You can also use white vinegar.
1. Dab rubbing alcohol onto the stain
2. Allow a couple of minutes for the alcohol to penetrate the surface and react with the stain
3. Blot the stain using layers of white paper towels or a cloth that has been dampened in either alcohol or water
COMMERCIAL STAIN REMOVER
Always follow packaging instructions when using a commercial stain remover.
Wash knives with soap and water and wipe dry after use. Do not put knives in the dishwasher - dishwashers are harsh on all tools!
To keep your knives sharp, always cut on appropriate cutting surfaces (like wood, plastic, or rubber). Do not cut on hard surfaces that can dull the blade.
Store your knife safely, and protect the blade from contact with hard surfaces.

You can personalize your H&B apron with embroidery! Adding embroidery to your apron order will extend the turnaround time by one week. Kindly allow an additional week for the embroidery process to be completed before your order is shipped out. Embroidered items are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange.
To personalize an apron, first choose your preferred color or pattern, and then click the "Customize It" button on the product's detail page. You have two options for personalization:
- TEXT EMBROIDERY: Add your own touch with up to 10 characters of text.
- MONOGRAM LETTERING: Opt for a classic look with up to 3 letters in a fancy monogram font style (perfect for initials).
Please note that embroidery is only available on the top right side of the apron, typically next to the top pocket.
PLEASE NOTE THAT EMBROIDERY ADDS AT LEAST A WEEK OF PROCESSING TIME TO YOUR ORDER! It will delay when your shipment arrives by 5-7 business days.
